Wine Ceremony Box

First of all a huge congrats to the newly weds and a big thanks for allowing me to be a part of your celebration! This is by far one of my favorite projects to date because of all the little details included.

The box itself was made from the same piece of curly walnut that was used to make the live edge floating shelf that is in their house, and has a continuous grain-wrap around all four corners. The design was based on a combination of a curly walnut and curly maple box I had made for my sister previously, and another box they had seen online. Speaking of my sister, the curly maple sliding lid was engraved with the her help (@signsbycb) and then hand-carved to get the shape to match the curved profiles desired. The inside of the box features one section to hold and display a wine bottle of their choice, and one section to store love letters to each other, notes from guests, wine glasses, or any other keepsakes.
