Modern Knife Block

While I loved the previous magnetic knife holder, it was time to make a new one. This new knife block is more of a modern style with slots to hold various kitchen knives with up to a 9.5″ long blade. The body of the knife block was made with bookmatched curly walnut to create a mirror image of the grain, and also has a continuous grain wrap across all corners. The 15 slats were made with curly maple and sit just proud of the slots for a bit more visual interest. The splines are also made with curly maple to reinforce the mitered corners.

Overall dimensions for this knife block are 7.25″ wide, 4.25″ deep, and 10.25″ tall.
