Half Bathroom Renovation

The first project we tackled in our new house was the first floor half bathroom renovation. What started out as replacing the laminate floor turned into a full renovation. This 4’x6′ room felt very cramped – a before picture can be seen here. Changes we made include:

• flipping the door to open out instead of into the bathroom for more space
• making a new narrower, open floating vanity to replace the bulky vanity
• installing a new vessel sink and faucet
• re-framing and hanging the mirror
• installing new porcelain tiles to replace the laminate flooring
• installing new bead board and chair rails at the correct height
• re-locating some plumbing to clean up the back wall and visible pipes.
• making a fun toilet paper tic tac toe to hang on the wall above the toilet

Overall this was a fun project that included a lot of new firsts for us, and we’re extremely happy with how it all came together. It feels much more spacious and functional now (even for a half bathroom).
