Coffee Bar
We had started to outgrow the upcycled piece that we were using as a coffee bar previously and decided to go all out and build this giant built in coffee bar and baking prep station. As these built ins are in our mudroom, we wanted this project to match the current mudroom built ins. We used the same gray cabinet paint, leather door pulls, and door profiles to keep a consistent look across both pieces. We have since replaced the original floors with some hickory flooring and we loved how the previous kitchen built ins had turned out. This led us to go with a sapele and hickory theme for the room. These built ins feature:
- three 18″ wide pull out drawers in the left-hand cabinet
- two 36″ wide pull out drawers in the middle cabinets
- two 18″ wide pull out drawers in the right-hand cabinet
- a seven foot long full depth continuous grain waterfall butcher block countertop made in sapele
- two six and a half foot long floating shelves made in hickory
The drawers are made from solid hickory and feature sapele drawer bottoms. All of the doors and drawers feature soft-close hardware as well. By building this coffee bar and baking prep station we have essentially tripled our storage space with dedicated and organized spaces, while making the room feel bigger and more open at the same time.
The Chemex caddy and live edge wall clock were part of this build as well.
